See, the other thing is that using a reader you can avoid at least some of those nasty issues with CF and SD cards becoming corrupted. I am not saying they won't, I am just saying it's going to be less likely. I have 2 CF cards, 128 and 256 and never had a problem with them. BUT I am only using readers.

BTW, you might want to be careful with the cheapo, noname card readers. I bought one a couple of months ago simply because it was a fairly low price.

Result: Smartmedia slot does not work, CF freezes up on large file transfers (ca. 80 mb and up).

So I went and got me another one which works properly.
The two brands which I have actually tried and know they work is PQI and IntelliFlash.
