Prior to the 8GB CF, I was using a 6GB Hitachi microdrive.

It looks like your CF Card is the Unknown one, your SD Card has a seperate driver and ATADISK is the driver for recognising your slot one along with detect which will be listed somewhere.
I'm going to do a hard reset and see if that fixes the problem,
Just out of curiosity what version of the ROM have you installed is it A12.
