This is a similar problem with my 256mb card, it works OK if there is just one file on, but as soon as I copy some music or picture files on it corrupts the original file. I even tried copyiing into a directory hoping it wouldnt affect the original but it still does it. I tried to copy a whole album of mp3 files , it copied some but then gave a message that it couldnt read the file or file type unknown.
