I have stated this on our new forums but figure i'd post it here since googlebot picked up this thread....

We are going to be releasing CorePlayer 1.1 in March. There are some very big changes to CorePlayer 1.1, those being:

- Mucho-mega bug fixes for all platforms (mostly Palm and update for TYTN)
- Skin loading time / Player start time improved
- Initial phone pause/play support
- Codec additions/changes
- Splitter additions/changes
- Finalized Universal Skins specification
- Revamped GUI Skin by Tunji

But the biggest part of the 1.1 release addition is our CoreTheque Media Library addition. CT as we call it brings a new level of media management to the mobile media space... a quick CT overview;

The CoreTheque DB is updated everytime you load a file(s) in CorePlayer. It contains metadata of all the files used, like Artist, Album, Year, Genre, etc. The CoreTheque navigation works by pages, where you select items for corresponding to the page displayed. Once it's done you can continue and make a finer selection for other items, or finish to see the files selected. You can also save selections as a playlist... the playlists are displayed in the main (first) page after the main items.

Exporting? Sure... You can export selections (as well as the selection) into a separate file. You can also add a folders and its subfolders to the main DB (yes it is itunes compatible).

On DB filling.... The files are read in the background (idle time) to get their meta data to fill the DB until this is done the files are just available from their filename.

A good read is this thread on our forums:
http://www.corecodec.com/forums/index.php?topic=28.0

It provides an overview of what each milestone release will be:

- 1.0 to 1.1... fix major bugs, finalize skins based on feedback and bring Symbian up to code
- 1.1 to 1.2... fix bugs, introduce the Media Library and in a 1.2.x release streaming
- 1.2 to 1.3... fix bugs, introduce Seek and Share
- 1.3 to 1.5... fix bugs. Introduce SyncML modules and backend web integration

There are many other things along the way that will be added like I/O plug-ins, CoreVector (our animation suite), Visualization library (2D and 3D), subtitles and the like... but as Slem on the forums has indicated I will not tag dates but rather just the stated goals of each major release.
