A05 Update File Removed from Singapore Site

It looks as if Dell speedily (~ 2 weeks) removed the A04 to A05 rom update file from the Singapore/A.P. site.

Consistent with the most recent press release about the removal because of potential pirating, I now expect another Dell press release that goes something like:

"Dell, constantly striving to improve our products and superb customer service for all of our customers, are pleased to announce an enhancement to our policy regarding the Axim product. We all know that the Axim is by far the best in its field, and we have worked, and continue to work, very diligently to improve the price/performance ratio so that nothing else on the market today can compete with the Axim.

However, we believe that there is a very slight, but still extant, possibily that there may be a person either now or in the future, whom, without proper authorized supervision, could potentially access the proprietary software present in the Axim. With this in mind, and for the benefit and protection of all of our U.S. customers, we have decided to sell and promote Axims more than ever, with the minor restriction that, in the U.S. they only be used in one of our wharehouses and only with a official Dell security administrator present at all times. To accomplish this, we will be recalling all previously shipped U.S. Axims to reside with all new U.S. Axims ordered in a specially built new Dell home for these Axims. No Axims will be allowed outside of this secure facility, except, of course, in all non-U.S. countries where the owners will be free to whatever they please.

Dell hopes that our U.S. customers appreciate our continued efforts and we look forward to your future business. We truly hope that you visit your Axim frequently."

Good idea Dell?
