Well, I guess I should've inserted sarcasm tags there... the whole point of the post was to use the argument 'well, Dell wouldn't dump support for older systems' by pointing to Microsoft to show that that HAS happened, and in a big way... heck, the x30 from Dell's a prime example: have you seen any big updates since the x51 and WM5 showed up, or promises to update the x30 to WM5?
Just because it might piss off some customers with older hardware doesn't mean a company's obligated to continue supporting a device until Judgement Day rolls around - a LOT of older devices have lost support since Vista showed up, and so did the OS's that came with them. And given the reports in the Front Page News area (see RIP: Dell Axim), I doubt that the Axims sold well enough to be considered a major product line for Dell towards the end, unlike the Treos were for Palm (which is why they're being continued there).

... not that one again.
Dell Tech Support chat also said that Axims don't work with 4GB SD cards (they do), among many other things. I trust those guys about as far as I can toss a fully loaded superjumbo. ;) I won't trust any rumors about WM6 for the Axim unless they're coming straight from the Dell website - not their tech support people in Mumbai.
