Until the Open Source stuff starts copying proprietary code - AAC is NOT an Open Source codec; OGG is, but AAC is a patented codec, and when the license holders say 'pull it', it's either 'pull it or be sued out of existence for violating copyright'. That's why CoreCodec had to pull the AAC and AVC plugins - and part of why you pay for CorePlayer now (they're paying licensing fees).

Well that sucks, its kind of like why they cant play realmedia files in tcpmp also.
