I have to use Outlook Express for email because of my internet service provider (roadrunner).
Can somebody help me work around this? I thought about just temporarily changing the default email program, but I can't find where to do this and I didn't know if that would create a bigger problem.

I am set up the same way as you (ie. I use Outlook as my calendar/tasks program but Outlook Express for email). The way I worked around the problem was to temporarily set Outlook as the default email client (go to tools->options->other, then check the box making Outlook the default mail client). Then the patch operated correctly.
When I was done installing the patch, I went back to tools->options->other and unchecked the box which made Outlook the default email client.
When you restart Outlook Express, it will ask you if you want to set it as the default mail client. Just click "yes" and you're all set.
