Okay, I think this is the answer to my problem, and I found the registry entry, but..... Here's my stupid noob question: How do I completely shutdown ActiveSync? It is not listed in Task Manager Applications, but still shows up (greyed out) in the system tray.
(I couldn't find this from a search)

(edit) Never mind, I found it using google: Kill 'wcescomm.exe' process using Windows Task Manager (Ctrl-Alt-Del)
