i am currently trying to play my xvid movies with my axim, thru a vga adapter onto a monitor. now redoing all the files is not an option- i have hundreds of movies in standard res for 1024x768 or whatever. i also generally play them from my micro-drive (and yes that setting's checked) but the problem i keep having is a slight choppiness during playback, even when the ax screen is off. in power settings, it's set for max. performance.

first off, would switching to CorePlayer solve this problem? has the codec been re-done?

second, what settings would be best for this application?
