I can confirm that mp3's use up only 104 MHz on my Axim x51v A12 ROM with Coreplayer 1.04. This is using auto. I spent a lot of time testing the pocket player demo and while it's a darn good looking player, it just ravages the battery.

If you don't want to pay for Coreplayer right now you can just use TCPMP and get pretty much the same effect of 104 MHz.

I use an 1800 MAh battery, so I estimate that Coreplayer can last me 8-12 hours with mp3's playing and screen off. I've never actually checked the maximum.

In my own tests I found that TCPMP/Coreplayer is the absolute lowest out of Mort/GSPlayer/WMP 10 for batt usage.
