Check the exact model. Mine is:
DELL Axim X51v
Right click IRKeybd.ddb.txt and Save target as to your PC. While it is still a .txt file, double click to open and view with notepad. It should look somthing like this:
I R K e y b d D e v i c e D B
v 1 . 3 9 T o s h i b a e 3 1 0 C O M 2 : T O S H I B A e 3 3 0 C O M 2 : T O S H I B A e 3 5 0 C O M 1 : T O S H I B A e 4 0 0 C O M 1 : T O S H I B A e 7 5 0 C O M 1 : T O S H I B A e 7 4 0 C O M 2 : C E T 0 3 0 0 A C O M 2 : D e l l A x i m X 3 C O M 3 : D e l l A x i m X 5 1 v C O M 2 : D e l l A x i m X 5 C O M 3 : P W 1 0 B 1
I truncated the file for this post.
Exit notepad and rename the file to IRKeybd.ddb. Open it with wordpad. It should look different, you'll see a lot of character squares (unprintable characters.)
What you have to do is change an entry to your model.
Try to find one that is exactly the same length.
Examples are:
T O S H I B A e 7 4 0
D e l l A x i m X 5 1 v
C o m p a q i P A Q H 3 8 0 0
Do your editing with wordpad and use Save.
change only the printable (readable) characters.
The file length should not change when you save. (6,688 bytes)
I believe the com port used is the C O M X : entry following the model.
Try using C O M 2 : and C O M 3 :
You are on your own if this doesn't help.
