That also assumes they've been working on the WM6 upgrade for some time, and that they're willing to unleash it on the world. With Toshiba, at least they HAD been working on the 2003SE upgrade, which is why they felt no qualms about releasing it into the wild. If Dell hasn't been doing so, then there's nothing to put out - and they'll have to spend MORE money on a dead product than they'll want to, on top of the risk of getting blamed for destroying more electronics than they already have due to the 'exploding Dell batteries'. :D
