Technically, I suppose I can say the restore "succeeded", as in "the message appeared correctly". But the restore asks for a Soft Reset, which was in fact a hard reset. Meaning I lost all my data, that is PIM data (which I got back through synch) and all my apps (I had to reinstall).

I just bought PocketBackup.
