Well, i test my Axim 400 battery life w/ movie palyback (PocketMVP). I set it on PowerSave mode(run on 200MHz, since it doesn't make many differences), Brightness level 3(good enough for watching movies or read books in any condition) and Sound level 3. My standard Axim battery can last for at least 4 hours (about 2 movies) before i need a recharge, the extended battery can last for 7-8 hours(about 4 movies! :o ). Also, all the movies are in a CF card. So I will say those batteries are more then enough for normal use(PIM or ebooks, etc).
Currently, i believe Axim has the best battery life among all the same class of 400MHz or 300MHz PDA (except for the new Casio PDA w/ 30 hours battery life, but w/o CF slot). battery is one of the most important reasons for me to buy an Axim instead of Ipaq (another reason is its price :D ). If you need the official number of battery life from Dell, here they are: Standard battery 8 hours, extended battery 25 hours. I do believe if you dont use the back light and run on PowerSave mode for PIM or reading ebooks you might be able to use an Axim w/ those number above. My conclusion is: Those batteris are good, but how you use your Axim gonna affect its battery life.
(Also, those new Palm OS 5 PDAs havent really work out their battery problem yet. Palm TT [made by Palm] has 8 hours battery life, Clie NV70 [made by Sony] only last 4 - 5 hours.)

Dude, u gettin a Dell !!!
