Speaking Battery Life? What is the best way to keep it at optimal condition?

1) Let it drop to 5% before charging back up to 100%
2) Let it drop halfway (50%) before charging it back up
3) Keep it above 90% at all times.

Just curious to what's the proper way for extended battery life of my PPC. I just got it yesterday, so now was a good time to ask..
