Mad Dubious modifications to WM2003 Order

Hi all newbie here,

Never posted before but frustration requires a bit of a rant!

Thought I'd add to the abundance of posts dissing dells support and customer service regarding wm2003.

Since buying my axim early this year I have had very little problems with it and find it to be a great machine. Only - When I deal with Dell Support/Account Mangers I hit no end of trouble. It's a shame when electronic gadgets are easier to deal with than real people but here goes:

*****Small off topic digression******
Upon ordering the Dell 300, I telephoned Dell to say I had made a mistake and wanted a 400 the very day I placed the order, Cutting a long story short it took weeks of calls (continually getting the run around and being hung up on), ignored emails and a recorded delivery letter to dell headquarters before the 30 day return window to have my original machine (which they "had" to send) replaced. I made another order and finally got my machine - with a call to my credit card co. to make sure both payments didn't go through - a simple adjustment in my order would have sufficed. This happened a while ago so I had forgot how bad it was until..........

Whilst reformatting my desktop I thought I may be able to get upgrades for my pda software and discovered the OS was available (????) - without checking aximsite first :O(. Don't get me wrong I've had great use from my axim - it's a great machine and I read aximsite quite regularly since I first hit it, but I neglected to check all your info on WM2003 before going ahead.

--SUBJECT AT HAND--

So I put in an order with Dell for wm2003. Now in my latest dealing with the ordering folk at dell I have been duped into paying the delivery charge they have advertised as free. On the ordering page I was told:

_________________________________________________-
System £19 17.5% £22.33

Total Delivery Charge £8 17.5% £9.40

Price to pay excl. VAT £27

Price to pay incl. VAT £31.73

Amount Payable £31.73
_________________________________________________-

Assuming the delivery would be taken off after processing I went ahead with it. Now I have my confirmed order delivered by post stating the full charge as:

_________________________________________________-

System £27.00

Total Delivery Charge £0

VAT £4.73

Price to pay incl. VAT £31.73

Amount Payable £31.73

_________________________________________________-

I have mailed Dell to say that simply writing a zero next to delivery and adding the delivery charge to the cost of the system does not constitute free delivery. I await confirmation of my delivery refund.

anyone got a refund on this one?

They've now had one week to respond and nothing. And yes the delivery date on order status changes daily or completely disappears (just gotta wait I guess).

I only wish the support people at dell had the smallest idea of how their own ordering system worked, or indeed the axim. A bit of knowledge on their part and they would have a great system both in hardware and support.

Needless to say I reakon some are working their ass off to get something out ASAP.

if your a little pissed with dell say "aye"!

:exc: What do you reakon on a free upgrade to WM 2004 for all the hassles DELL?

(finally got it all off my chest, now to sit and wait (im)patiently for my upgrade)

Ps. Anyone know if Belkin are likely to support WM2003 for their Bluetooth PDA Adapter Card?
