rephrasing question

Zimpfer,
The question did not have anything to do with the memory effect of Nicad batteries of yore. I was told that these new batteries have an average number of charge / discharge cycles after which they need replacement- The Nextel phone has a battery with about 500 cycles. I was told by the Nextel folks that each time you connect the battery to a power source, it counts as one charge cycle. Therefore, I was adviced, one should only charge the device when the battery is really low, in order to keep the number of charge cycles low... Any comments?

Cheers,
