I got my new hx2415 last week replacing my old Axim X5. Actually, my hospital gave one to each of the physicians as a new IT initiative. It worked well for the first few days, then the same problem everyone else is having (can't power it on) but it seems to occur only after it's been turned off for a minimum of 4-6 consecutive hours. Also, didn't seem to happen until after I began using a SanDisk 512MB SD card in the device. It has nothing to do with the battery running down, since it had been fully charged just prior to the problem, and after the reset, the battery showed a full charge.

Usually, a soft reset will get it running, but once I had to hard reset. Before finding this forum, I thought it was a "lemon" PPC so I exchanged it for another one from the IT dept but the same problem occurred (with the same SD card). I don't have a lot of extra programs loaded: Metro, Pocket Streets 2004, Acrobat reader, Microsoft reader, WisBar Advance 2, Avant Go, Epocrates (a drug thing) ... nothing too exotic.

I have a feeling it has something to do with the SD Card. When I first got my Axim several years ago, I had to get SanDisk to replace a 256MB SD card, because many early Axim users found that all their SD card data would get erased with no warning. It turned out to be some Axim/SD glitch that no one knew about until a bunch of users started reporting it through AximSite (just like this forum). Having seen the quirkiness of PPC's and SD cards firsthand, it wouldn't surprise me if history repeated itself.

Any hx users out there having the problem and NOT using an SD (of CF) card???? What manufacturer's cards are being used (the old Axim problem was with only certain SanDisk cards with certain serial #'s)?

Hoping for an answer AND a fix!
