When I started with the Axim I found the PPC Money at the MS web site. As I recall they had very specific versions for the version of PPC Windows and your version of Money on your PC. Check those to be sure you are using the matching verisons.
I have not had extra entries on my PC, but I have noticed once in a while the version on my Axim is not correctly updated.
I found that once in a while through active sync deleting the DBs on the handheld and resynching all of them cleans things out quite a bit, and helps things run better (VERY SUBJECTIVE).
