As to the pursuit of knowledge being a crime. How does that translate into today's world? Should we all stop pursuing knowledge? Stop sending our kids to school? Is knowlegde of the bible a crime too?

I think, if you re-read, you'll find I never said Knowledge was a crime but that
as I understand it God can not tolerate our being so PROUD of our knowledge that many of us feel we no longer need him. Pride is the problem - Knowledge tends to lead us to that end. That is all.
So proceed at will, but maintain perspective. I, because of my beliefs, do not want to sound like a flea complaining about the dog on which I live.
And.... I do not take offense to questioning my faith, or why I believe what I believe. I, like all of you, am a work in progress. I do not profess to have all of the answers, just what I believe based upon what I have learned thru my life thus far. The end result may be far different that what currently is. I was born, raised and confirmed catholic, and am now just a generic non-denomonational Christian. What I am now leaning towards however is Mesianic Jewdeism, which I feel contains a better historical perspective of the culture in which the life of Christ occured. And a better understanding of the Cultural meanings of the Old test. text.
