Try turning off the cache completely.. It seems to be that the playback catches up to what is loaded into the cache, and then the vid stops while the cache is reloaded.
Setting it to no cache will cause PMVP to play directly from the stored file in memory and should cure this problem, although you carry a higher risk of dropped frames. At 12 fps this shouldn't be an issue.
