First, it's a GlobalSat GPS (not GlobalStar), and it does NOT block the headphone jack (I have one).

AS far as I'm aware, there is no CF GPS that you can "detach the antenna from the CF card," unless you are referencing the EXTERNAL antenna which plugs into the antenna on the CF card. You still have about a 1.5" square antenna sticking out of the Ax.

Haicom does make a "foldable" CF GPS which allows you to fold it back, but it (the antenna portion) is still outside the Ax.

A mouse GPS needs to be powered externally (as opposed to the CF GPS which is powered via the CF slot) so you are restricted to auto use (or carrying aroud a power pack).

I recommend a CF GPS even if you think you will always use it in the car - you never know until you get it how you might use it.
