It is the same set-up that I have (although I recommend getting the Arkon mutimedia mount also 'cuz the Ax speaker is kinda weak - definitely needed in a convertible).

It works great - just mentioned to my wife last night that it's very nice how we no longer have to even worry about how to get somewhere.

For example, we drove to Lambeau Field for it's grand re-opening last night (about 2 hours from my home). Although we usually go to one game a year, I typically am not the driver so I don't pay too much attention on how to get there. Last night we took the kids so I did drive. Plugged in the route & went - worked great. Even better was the drive home - traffic was kinda backed up so I took a quick peek on Mapopolis & saw what I thought could be an alternative. It didn't quite work out like I thought (no on-ramp where I had hoped) I was re-routed instantly and avoided most of the traffic. That would have never been possible in an unknown city without a map & good navigator (which, unfortunately, my wife is not :) ).

The total for my setup was $210:
- Globalsat BC-307 $69 & $10 s&h (e-bay)
- Mapopolis Navigator $89 (direct from them)
- Arkon multimedia mount $39 (buy.com)
