First off, the write limit for the ROM (as reported by Intel) is approximately 100,000 writes, not 10,000 as you said.
Also, by backing up once a day to the built-in storage, that wouldn't really wear away at even a 10,000 write limit....much less the actual 100,000 write limit. If you think about it 365 writes per year with this method. So even if you kept your PDA for 10 years (
which I doubt any of us will do), that's only 3,650 writes.
