Xpress Mail from Cingular
I've been doing some research into this app, now that I have set it up on my 8525 to access my corporate email.

From what I've read, the service works something like a timed request for updates. The desktop software sends a notification to the xpressmail server that an update (new mail) is available, the server then sends a special SMS message to the PDA/phone/whatever that signals it to request a "sync" to the desktop via the xpressmail server.

Or something to that effect.

If you were hoping to have something blackberry-like, this isn't it.

What you'll experience PDA-side is another node in the mail tree of the Messaging app, that says Xpress Mail, same place as the pop accts and Outlook E-Mail.

and every now and again as it does it's scheduled checks, will return the new message count to the Inbox today plugin
