I always enjoy a good challenge, and so when I read about this patch I was all up for testing the theory out.

The patch is still out there although I may not be permitted to say where so I won’t, anyhow I got my hands on it and within 30seconds of opening the file in a hex editor I saw the flaw and after 1 hour I had W2003M on my PDA fully working. I played around with it and saw a few added features on it but I was more impressed by the speed increase.

I then returned my PDA back to its original state and have ordered the CD.

Then I though if this could be done taking 2003 – 2002 and I was able to downgrade my Mates PDA to 2002 by cracking my own rom backup using the same method I used on the dell A05 patch, I then restored his PDA back to it original conditions with no problems.

My point is that with minimal programming knowledge I was able to do this, with out causing any damage to my PDA or my friends. If you are willing to use illegal software you accept the risks, if you can’t accept the risks then don’t do it, it is as simple as that.
