After you get your ax all loaded up and configured, do a backup. That way, when you start adding trial software, freeware, etc, and testing out the capabilities, you can go back to a working configuration without reinstalling everything.

You will find that some apps just won't uninstall properly, and need a good hard shove to get off your PPC.

Also, if you travel and are away from your computer alot consider using cabinstl ( from here: http://www.geocities.com/s_k_s_k_s_kru/#ci ) and saving some of your more important appplication .cab files on a cf or sd card. This way you can reinstall the application (to the directory of your choice, and without deleting the .cab file) without needing to connect to a computer. Most .cab files can be found on you desktop in the /program files/activesync/program name directory. This is good for emergency situations where your backup file is corrupt and won't let you restore.

Also, don't forget a screen protector, because sometimes bad things happen to good PPC's.
