You need to re-establish the file association for media player, or whatever you want to be the default player. An aftermarket file explorer app will let you do this, so maybe find one with a free trial?
I use DEXplore, and others use RESCO explorer. I don't thing the generic file explorer does this function.
A hard reset will also do it for sure, but that's a little harsh for this.
