Did anyone with a similar Dell experience end up getting the upgrade and not getting charged for it??? If not, I won't bother trying to find the applicable credit card statement.....

Ted -- yes the same happened to me. I got up to 5 calls between the time I ordered (when it was on sale) and I finally got it. Each time it said if you don't call it'll be cancelled. However, when they started shipping I got mine and they charged me.
