I am in the same situation. I found that NetFront did work, but was a little slow due to the large web pages. My preferred method is to get on our internal network (using dial up, usually) and then use an IMAP4 account in the Inbox to sync email.
It works great. I can specify which folders to sync and since the messages are kept on the Exchange server, the read/replied/deleted status is updated.
Now if I can just do the same thing with my POP3 account for home email. The problem here is I cannot find a setting that allows me to keep a copy of the email on the server.
