Baltus, Getting an extra memory card is not a bad idea. This is especially true if you plan to use your Axim to listen to MP3s or play movies, etc. as these files will quickly fill your Axim's memory.

You should not have a problem using a memory card from a third party manufacturer. Dell actually sells SanDisk memory cards on their website, which are available from a variety of Internet and retail vendors (at least in the U.S.). I have been able to find these cards as well as other brands at prices comparable or slightly lower than Dell's.

Just to be cautious, you might want to look at the technical specs for the memory cards available on Dell's site, just to make sure the card you buy will work with the Axim.
