I had to set the WEP again on the access point. Somewhere on the configuration of your access point you probably have an option to generate a key using a easily remembered password.

This generates a 26 character hexidecimal code you will see this when you generate the code. Write it down (if my access point is typical you cannot recover this code later).

Then on your X3 go to settings-connections-wireless ethernet
Tap on the SSID of your wireless network and tap the authentication tab.
tick the box "WEP enabled" and enter the characters in the network key.

Finally tap ok, disable and then enable the wireless. All should be tickity boo.
