I'm not 100% sure on this but my guess is that it is because of your Recording Control Settings.
Go to Volume Vontrol, Options, Properties, Recording, Check Wave, OK.
Next make sure that on the check boxes on the bottom that Wave is the one selected, not the Microphone. This is now the selected audio recording device so any program that records will pick up wave audio, eg. Winamp playing, not the output from your microphone.
