kidruiz has a point. Keep main memory free and the Ax will stay quicker.
Things that slow down PocketPC:
1. Lots of files on a SD or CF will slow down soft reset. It builds a complete directory on soft reset so more files = more time.
2. Lots of .lit files will slow down MSReader startup. Same problem, it looks for them ALL every time it starts.
3. Lots of .wma/.mp3, etc. slows down WMP. Same problem.
4. Lots of "resident" programs. (battery checkers, add-ins like dashboard/wisbar/icbar, etc., launcher programs, shutdown programs, etc.) Everything shares so the more to share the less everyone gets.
I use dashboard because I like it, so I am willing to pay the price. For books, I only carry the one I'm reading, plus one more as I get close to the end. I pull the CF card with music on it out unless I'm planning to listen to it. Finally, I install as much as I can to the SD card, to keep main memory free.
