I disagree with this completely. ME was a mess, and to compare WM2003 to it is unfair to WM2003. Perhaps it's more like comparing Win2000 to NT 4.0 if you need a comparison.

2003 is definitely better than 2002, but, if you are going to be using your device mainly for PIM purposes, it is probably not worth it.

PIE is definitely better. WMP 9 finally has a volume control that is separate from the system volume control. The device is a wee bit faster, but for most purposes, you probably won't notice. If you use WiFi and go to different access points with different settings WM2003 is definitely better than PPC2002 was, at least with the WiFi adapter drivers that I had used.
