Help Convince Me of the Utility Value of the Ax!
Here's the scoop:
I bought a 400mhz Ax and received it about 2 weeks ago. I bought an 802.11b Wi-Fi card, a 256mb SD card, and downloaded tons of software and games to try out. Today I just returned the Wi-Fi card and SD card, and am seriously considering returning my Ax - though it scores very high points on the "cool index," it doesn't score very high on the "utility index" - that is, how useful it is.
I tried playing video on it and finally determined the only way that would *reliably* work was to use Microsoft's Media Encoder and convert anything I wanted to watch to Pocket PC-optimized wmv format - .ram files caused problems, avi files locked both Pocket TV and PocketMVP... quite a headache.
I tried using the wireless CF card and found that unless I was within pretty close proximity to an AP, the signal was too low to really do anything.
I tried both Pocket Informant and Agenda Fusion - PI ( in my opinion ) is a far superior product but extraordinarily slow.
I have lost count of the number of soft resets I have done.
Don't get me wrong - I think the Ax is completely cool! I just need some convicing. Please tell me what you use yours for and why I really need to just keep my Ax!
Thanks a ton!
