anyone knwo how to lookup an ip remotely?

sometimes i'm on the road or at the office and i want to login to one of my computers at home. i've set up remote login and routinely log in if i need a file or to check on the progress of stuff. however, sometimes my cable modem's ip will reset ( ihave auto-renew turned on in my router's settings) and it'll change. i know my computer is still online, cause i see my home aim account is still online and can message it.

what i'd like is some program that i can contact and have it reply with my cable modems ip address. or some method.

i've tried messaging my home aim account and checking out netstat on my work computer. but that only gives me the ip of the aim servers.

i guess i could try setting a static ip, though i don't know if the folks at roadrunner (or I) would like that.
