You don't have uninstall/reinstall.

Go into ActiveSync on the desktop.

Go to "Options->Rules"

Do "Conversion Settings".


For "Device to desktop", change Microsoft Word document and Microsoft Word Template to "no conversion".

For "desktop to device", do the same.

You should be all set.
