Sorry, to come off this way, but your IT staff is probably very busy, and they don't need users creating more work for them. Furthermore, why would you want them to trust a 3rd party application that may fix your problem but mess up their network? Networks can be very stable provided 3rd party application are solid and kept to a minimum. It's really not that much more work (for you) than saving the original file.
