I use PocketInformant as my PIM. I like the layout and the flexibility. It uses the standard databases, so when you sync it all works, but it's a lot more useful. I think they have a trial version. http://www.pocketinformant.com/

I think they are offering 25% off for some time. It wasn't terribly expensive in the first place. Less than US$20.
