I bought my first X5 in January '03, and at that time I was fishing for a forum to hang out in. First I went to pocketpccity.com's forums, but then I started checking out other forums to see thread and member counts, and at that time--mid-January 2003--dale coffing's pocketpcpassion.com actually had the most of everything.

i saw aximsite but it just seemed much smaller, and frankly a little obnoxious for basically declaring itself the axim website/forum.

The axim board at ppcpassion doesnt seem to have changed much, but there is only one axim board after all, and traffic is pathetic in comparison to aximsite, and may have gotten worse since people like me left....it also annoyed me because wth all the pictures of PPCs around the site, the axim was nowhere to be seen.

In June I moved back to school for summer classes and for some reason--actually i believe i was fishing for info on SD cards because i was caught up in the sandisk thread on the dell forums--I dropped by aximsite and discovered it had overtaken ppcpassion considerably. I also noticed the highest post counts i had ever seen; not just high ones but a lot of them. the average member seemed to have about double the number of posts as people at ppcpassion.

so i started posting on memory threads, then eventually got caught up in everything and for quite a while during the summer and some weeks recently i basically lived on the site, checking up every few hours. what was more remarkable than the fact that i did this was the fact that I could do it because new posts are literally added every few minutes 18-24 hours a day.

and now i have passed the 1k mark myself. an accomplishment, i guess, though i really wonder what else i could have done with all that time.

i must say it sure has had some payoffs--Aximsite gave me a free sena case through one of the contests, and i've gotten in on some tight deals from the bargain threads and classifieds.

and about customer service....honestly aximsite is the first place to go for any axim-related issues you might have. there are just so many darn people on this website that somebody out there has already gone and figured out what to do, and half the time you read about people calling dell and they know less than the people here. the only reason i would call dell would be to adjust an order, get a replacement, or tackle some really obscure technical issue and pray that i get a tech who knows stuff they dont put in the manual.

aximsite has also made my axim more worthwhile. links to free downloads, suggestions from members about apps, games, hardware, accessories....information about usage, battery life, ....honestly i could be here all night trying to describe how much i get out of this site.

much thanks indeed to Chris, the mods, the writers, the reviewers, the rest of the staff and of course the rest of the membership. Happy b-day, axsite.
