jmattick, that's great if it were WinXP, but as u know, our handhelds run Win Mobile 2003. The x3i communicates directly with the wireless router, it has nothing to do with what other computers are on the network. The problem should still happen even if you have only a wireless router and the x3i and no other computers. Thanks for the idea, but I think the problem is the firmware on the x3i's built-in wireless card. It's probably fixable by something as simple as adjusting the beacon rate on the router to compensate for the wireless card on the x3i.

I have the linksys router (BEFW11SR4 v3 - firmware 1.45) and I've had this happen on my x3i, which I've only had for about 3 days now. My connection sometimes stays solid for hours...and other times, it drops every 4-7 minutes, sometimes it even drops right in the middle of a transfer, when the connection isn't even idle. I have solved my problem by changing the Beacon Interval on the router from 100 to 10, the default is 100. I changed it last nite and have not had a drop-out since...I'll post again if I have anymore drop-outs. On the linksys, this setting is under "Advanced" > "Wireless". If 10 doesn't work for you, try 30 or 50 or 70. It may take a bit of fiddling to find what works best for you. Also, I am using 128 WEP.

If anyone else tries this small change, let us know how it goes.
