As I understand it...
when you install on the Pocket PC it is very similar to your desktop OS. SOME files get put into windows (in main memory) and the most is stored where you indicate. If you do a hard reset the files on a SD card are still there but those files in windows are not and the application will have to be re-installed.
However, If you do a back up before the hard reset you can restore the programs in that way which is easier. (this backup method will not work if the problem existed before you did ythe backup - it will reinstall the problem)
So make sure you do a backup while everything is working!!!
Directory structure is the same in all areas. Built in storage is just some "left" over space not needed at this time for OS. Later if the OS grows this area may be needed for OS storage!
