If that didn't work then remove the batteries (both of them) and try plugging the Axim in to the A/C Adapter. Fortunately, it came back to the life without removing both batteries. But the tech did mention to me that there was a hardware flaw that caused this. After we hung up and I got thinking about it I've tried 3 times since to get back in touch with a tech that knows of the issue my tech described. No luck yet, but the original tech has a note to call me back. If this is a hardware issue that Dell knows about then it's covered under warranty. I'll post what I found out here.

the samething happened to me, with my initial X5. I thought the unit had died. I found out that if you take the main battery off and leave the unit without power for a hour or two, it will clear itself up. Probably, it is hung up, and taking the power off will clear out the program tht is causing this. Worked for me. I had ordered a replacement unit, when this happened, and when the new one arrived, I tried the old one, which worked (after I had done a hard reset and lost everything...buyer beware.
