hejo are you talking about restoring your Activesync backup or PPC 2002? If you're talking about Activesync, then the manual (and the installer I think) makes it clear that a PPC 2002 backup cannot be used with WM2003.

If you're talking about restoring PPC 2002 then the file for that is a .ris file which you are given the option of creating within the actual upgrade program.
