Some people (a few) say they can get X5's to run SNES games well and the rest don't.
What counts as running 'well' varies from person to person, and game to game. Hence, why there is some confusion. To get get nearly full speed (single digit frameskip) you'd need to overclock a 400MHz Axim and run one of the faster SNES emus.

In addition, a couple of questions I have is can anyone get SNES games to work at really good frames under heavy load?
What do you mean by 'heavy load'? If you mean having a bunch of stuff running in the background, you can't really do that. You really should close all other running apps.

Does going from w2002 to w2003 make a difference
A huge one! Definately get WM2003 if you want to do SNES/GBA emulation. The speed difference between my PPC2002 300MHz Axim and my friends WM2003 300MHz Axim was very noticable.

Emu: Pocket SNES Bleeding Edge 01/16/2003 release

PPC Model: X5 Basic (300MHz)

OS: (2002 or 2003) 2002

Tweaks: (if any) always to set processor speed to normal and close all running apps (except switcher bar)

Peformance: 80% speed with sound off, 70% with sound on. Playable, but slow. (would be fine for RPGs) I normally play Gradius 3 on it.
