Ver2 of the ms theme generator can add a today screen plugin. If you let it add the plugin, you can browse themes in any folder (or on a mem card) and get a thumnail of the theme.
What I do is uncheck the plugin (settings--today--items) then when I want to switch or browse themes I check the box, go in and browse, set a theme, then uncheck the box again.
If you try it out, it is really a lot easier than I describe.
