Back in the day when I was in College, I used an Apple Newton 110. I was able to just use the calendar and task functions built into the newton without trouble. You should be able to do the same here. One thing that might be great is to get a PIM replacement such as
Pocket Informant that might help you keep better track of your tasks. Give it a shot!
