... I among them. Sprite backup saved my ax last weekend. I bought it just after Christmas, and, after messing with it for a couple of days, set up scheduled nightly backups. Well, on 02 January 2004 I had an unscheduled hard reset. Why? Well, I'm still trying to figure that out. But instead of losing everything and having to post a panicked plea for help here, I calmly (ha!) ran the executable backup that Sprite had made on 01 January 2004 and, less than half an hour after the hard reset, I was back to where I had been. I lost 20 minutes worth of work instead of months worth. It was simple, easy, and, best of all, I get to gloat about my preparedness instead of complain about my loss.
You hope you never have to use your backups for real, but boy is it sweet when a potential disaster turns out to be not really much of anything. Sprite Backup rules.
